Listening to the storm was lovely last night. Got caught in the HUGE downpour when I ran out to Walgreens, and I splooshed in every puddle on the walk home.

Was able to open my windows aroung 9:00 PM. Yay. (I had neglected the dishes a bit, and it was a little stinky in my apartment) and I fell asleep to slowly fading thunder. Had the best sleep I've had in days, and actually woke up under the blankie!

It's still raining and a bit sticky, but it's supposed to clear/dry out by afternoon. Tomorrow should be primo weather for the Tall Ships Festival, though we'll be getting up to 90/91 Saturday and Sunday, and I'm pretty sure our stage has no shade.

Going to take some measurements at the new place tonight after work, for final analysis of exactly what is going to fit where.

But speaking of work, I guess I'd better go do some....

I'm tossing together a promo piece for Minstrosity, and I don't have the right font!

The Minstrosity logo is in a TrueType font called Emerald Isle, and I don't have it on my work computer.

I found a shredder!

It was in the trash room on my floor.
Brought it back to my office
It showed a red light.
I poked around, cleaned and lubricated it.
It works just fine now.
(It might even be the one from my old job - it's certainly the same model, as I bought theirs.)
I was looking to buy one to make newspaper into cheep bunny litter, but this will do just nicely.

From an AP story in the local gay paper today.

"The Army has dismissed a decorated sargeant and Arabic language specialist from North Carolina under the 'don't ask don't tell' polict, though he says he never told hgis superiors he was gay and his accuser was never identified"

OK - that's not surprising - we all know this policy is bonerheaded, but this is the part that caught my eye...

"During a formal interview last Dec 2, , investigators asked (him) if he understood the military's policy on homosexuals, if he had any close acquaintances who were gay, and if he was involved in community theater. He answered affermitively"

Because apparently community theatre makes you OMGGAY!!!!11one!!
