I'm not actually done with packing yet - I put in 5 solid hours before the dust got to me. So I went back to the new place and started rigging electrical stuffs. The new place is woefully short of grounded outlets and none of them are anywhere near where I want to put the computer, so I picked up an outdoor extension cord and I'm running it behind where the bookcase will be and slipping it up and over the doorway so that there will be appropriate power where I want it. Also I installed screw-grounded adapters on some of the plain outlets so that I can use my power strips. AND I put those spiky anti-pigeon spikes on the formerly-poopy windowsill. I also went to Target and got a smallish bookshelf, 2 waste baskets, and a hamper. My knuckes are pretty banged up - I coated them all with Neosporin and bandages before I went to bed - and some of the spike-adhesive just won't come off.

But what is left at the old place is basically going thru the stuff that had fallen under/behind the kitchen credenza and the sewing tables and deciding what is actually useful and what is really just trash. Figure an hour or so on that if I just sit down and do it.

Also have to go and get gatorade/etc for the movers.

I just sent off a map and directions to the moving company. [livejournal.com profile] lisagems will be monitoring stuff once the movers get started and will close down the old place while I am getting the new place ready. Hopefully the move wil be done before noon and I will have a couple of hours to put stuff together and do a little unpacking before my dentist appt at 5. Two fillings (one old one new). yay me.

Last week a client called very upset and needed to know where the projector remote receiver was. I looked up the task and noticed that we delivered it on the 8th. I told her this and she said "Oh, I know - it was in the bag yesterday but it's not there now. WTF? How is the fact that you can't find something in your office your IT company's problem?

But the vendors are a riot. I got a reply back from a request I made for information about a rather obscure product. "I am looking on the Microsoft site and I cannot find it. I was made aware of this version by my pcconnection elves (they are small blue dudes that sing songs and swear like sailors ;) )" Now I can't get that image out of my head....

I'm all packed

Well, there is one corner that has a sign taped to it that says "ignore all this", and there are a few things stuffed in the bathroom so as not to be moved either..

But I'm all ready for the movers. They are supposed to be here at 8, so I've set my cellphone alarm for 7AM.

I'll most likely be out of contact until Wednesday afternoon or so, when I'm back to work. [livejournal.com profile] jfc013, I'd LIKE to come to movie on Friday, but it all depends on how much of my life is still in boxes by then.

Y'all be good while I'm gone...
