and currently pirating wireless access off an unsecured network somewhere in my building. I'm waiting for the phone co to come and hook up my new phone, but they are supposed to be here by 12 and no sign of them yet. I sent an e-mail to work to say "ummm - I'm still waiting for them".

$410 later everythign is moved. Golans Moving showed up early, so I didn't need[livejournal.com profile] lisagems help at all. 4 guys (3 hispanic and one eastern european) got everything moved in 2 hours and 45 minutes all told.

I got the bookshelves and the couch re-assembled and about half the books and all the dvds unpacked. I need to go check the wiring on the Vcr/Dvd/Tv thing, as I did it in a hurry and it didn't play a disc last night - probably plugged something wrong. I also went to the dentist and got the 2 fillings taken care of - 1 old and 1 new. Then I went to check out and buy a small wall-mounted table and 2 chairs. Yay for CraigsList!

It was lovely to sleep on my featherbed again, till I was awoken by the Gas man this morning. I'm supposed to go into work by 1 but waiting for the phone co may change that. I will still have to go back to the old place for the serious cleaning and all the "no you CAN'T have my security deposit" stuff this weekend.

Unpacking continues apace. I have almost all of the books unpacked now.

I was using my black IKEA shelving unit as a kind of room divider at the old place, so I was able to put books in both sides Now that it is against the wall, I realized last night that I was going to need more space for the library.

I was pretty pleased with the 4-shelf bookcase that I got from Target, so I went back tonight to get two of these. They fit exactly on either side of the IKEA unit for a whole wall of books! Of course, nothing is really organized yet, but at least it's all out now.

Unfortunately, the weight of both bookcases was a bit too much for my grocery cart, which broke off the front axle as I got off the 2nd bus. I may be able to fix it, but I've rigged some repairs in the past on it and it may just be time to replace it.

So I continue unpacking. Most of my clothes are unpacked. Now granted, if it was con costumes or out-of-season clothing, I simply tossed the boxes into the main closet - I'll deal with them later. But the basic stuff is getting done. The computer setup will have to wait till the weekend, likewise the kitchen stuff.

I am SO not looking forward to tackling the loft, but I can't set up any of the sewing stuff until that's done. Right now all the pieces are sitting in the kitchen, taking up the bunny-space.
