I started trying to put my bed together tonight. I ended up having to take parts of it apart twice and had to stop as the downstairs neighbors were cranky as I kep dropping things. I definitely need four hands to do this. Terrence helped me last time. Visitors on Saturday may find themselves conscripted. Of course, I need to figure out how things go back together first...
I zapped my power yesterday again - I think there is something wrong with one outlet, as both times it shorted out I was plugging something into that outlet. I have it marked and the super is coming on Monday to poke at it.
I slept nice and late, then let the bunny-girl out and went grocery shopping. I'm sure I got some odd looks harvesting dandelion greens from the parkway on my way home, but it was worth it - once I washed then 4-5 times (once with vinegar) she really chowed down on the mix of cilantro, bibb, and dandelion greens. I gave her a nibble as I was unpacking the groceries, and she started running around my feet and tugging on my shoelaces. CLEARLY the bringer-of-treats was somewhat remiss in her duties today. :)
I'm pretty sure on Pepper now for a name. It really does suit her. I was napping on the couch, and she hopped up to investigate me. She was snuffling my face - it was so sweet, so I made little kissy-noises at her. She bit my lower lip. YEOW! I yelped, and had the presence of mind to push her head down and hold it for a moment which is how dominant rabbits discipline their group members. She ran off and hid, and I went to look for the peroxide. She didn't break the skin, so I cursed a bit and then went back to sleep.
All was forgiven later, I guess, as she came up to me on the couch again, wandered over me, and there was some sniffing and petting. She's getting more comfy with me every day, but any touching that doesn't involve food is short and on her terms only. She has a couple of lounging places - behind/under the futon is one of her favorites. I lost my first electrical cord to bunny-teeth, but that is kind of my fault - I knew I should cover it but I ignored it. Luckily it was not plugged in, and it was to a lamp that I found in John's laundry room anyway, so I'm not exactly attached to it.
I redyed my hair, and resisted the temptation to dye my hare. Though one of her front paws is still pink - she got into a not-entirely-empty glass of kool-aid and knocked it over, and by the time I realized what she was doing she'd lapped most of it up and one front paw was quite red. She looked very silly. She very clearly approves of the new rugs - I'd be watching TV and I'd hear thumpa thumpa thumpa thumpa the length of the apartment behind me. It makes me giggle.
Hopefully the parts of the bed that ARE assembled will not fall and crush me in my sleep.
