a bunny in motion...

I went to the kitchen to make iced tea.

Pepper decided an immediate visit to the kitchen was in order. I mean, there might be pellets. Even though there were pellets an hour ago, there is still a possibility that it might again be Time For Pellets and Pellets are a Thing of Wonder and Delight to all bunnies.

I was most of the way to the kitchen when I realized that I had left my cup behind me on the desk, so I turned back to get it.

I have hardwood floors.

Pepper was barrelling towards the kitchen with excitement about the possibility of Pellets, and saw me stop.

Did I mention that I have hardwood floors?

*skitter skitter skitter BONK* right into my leg.

OMG!!!!

My bunny almost drowned!

To combat the dry winter air in my apartment, I had run the shower on hot and let it fill up the tub. I then left it overnight to try and humidify the place. I've done this before lots of times.

Pepper has never shown any interest in the bathtub before. She has seen me in the tub and never even sniffed around, so I never even thought anything could happen.

Well, I was wrong.

I woke up this morning to an odd noise - sort of a scrabbling, I decided I might as well see if she had knocked something down or something, and couldn't find her at first.

Then I found her half paddling half floating in the cold water!

I grabbed her out and toweled her dry as best I could (it took 2 towels!) then I started with the blow-dryer. I got most of her back and head dry and was starting on her tummy when she came out of her shock and decided she could handle the rest herself. Now she's hiding behind the couch and busily grooming.

And now I'm breathing again. Wow - i never even thought that this could be dangerous!
