Looptopia

Not this week but next Friday 5/11 is Looptopia, with free stuff happening from dusk till dawn. Stores also stay open and will have sales and activities. There are lessons in tango or knitting, dance performances in the store windows, gallery walks, spectacle from Redmoon Theatre, flashlight architecture tours, movies from art shorts to 50's B-movies, stage combat demos, glee clubs, classical indian music - Kind of like First Night, but warmer.

Is anyone planning to go?

I was pondering:
5-5:30 - Gallery walk of the fiber art exhibit at the cutural center
5:45 - Columbia grad student stage combat demo 1 S Dearborn
(That's where Dave Wooley aka Dirk Perfect from the Swordsmen teaches)
6:15 - The Midnight Circus at Daley Plaza
7:15 - grab dinner and maybe mosey over to play at Blick Arts demo tables
8:00 Redmoon Theatre installation at 1 S Dearborn
9:00 - more shoppies and probably coffee by that point
10:00 - back to the cultural center, to check out the knitting stitch & bitch or see a Punch & Judy show
11:00 - midnight yoga
12:00 stop in for India all Night and/or the Silk Road Theatre Project, or back to the knitters - all go till 2AM
2:00 till I give up - B-Movie Insomnia (Earth vs the Flying Saucers, It Came from Outer Space, etc)

some events run till 6AM, which would be neat, but I know I won't make it that long.
