wendyzski: (love/eats)
Friday - *moves file cabinet by myself* Ooh - that's going to hurt tomorrow.

Saturday -*pops 2 Naproxen* Yep - that was dumb, wasn't it. Ow. *gets on with life*

Sunday - I take this heating pad to be my lawfully wedded husband... *does not get on with life*

Monday - It can be docter tiem now pls?

So off I limped to my doctor, who diagnosed a momentary lapse of common sense and assorted soft tissue injuries. We even discussed which yoga poses will be safest and most helpful in getting through this.

So I am now eating lunch to prepare for a brief visit to the Land of No Pain with my new friends Tamadol (analgesic) and Flexeril (muscle relaxant). I'm hoping there will be rides.

No swirling or pretty colors. Mainly I slept. The only odd thing is that in all my dreams I couldn't read. The letters didn't connect into words. Wierd.

Anyway, I'm apparently not the kind of person who will addict to painkillers. With the Flexeril in my system, the pain is at a definitely manageable levels. If I concentrate of breathing and not tensing up when I move, I can do fine. See, I've always felt that pain is your body telling you "hey - something doesn't work right". With no pain at all, it's too easy to do too much and injure myself worse. With pain telling me my limits I can keep things moving and hopefully recover faster.

I'll keep them in my purse in case a full day at work tomorrow is too much (which is likely), and I'll take both at night so that things will relax and heal while I sleep.

I'm going to wait another 45 minutes or so for the pain meds to clear out of my system some more, and then try some mild stretching to keep things mobile. Then back to the couch to continue my torrid affair with Mr. Heating Pad.

So, it looks like, as I'd hoped, what we mainly needed to do was interrupt the "I hurt, so I tense up which makes me hurt, which makes me tense up...." cycle
