misc stuff
Aug. 10th, 2007 10:15 amWhat with everything else that has been going on, I've been neglecting my vocal practice and was tired and sore after rehearsal last night. Couldn't even take a throat drop for it, because somebunny eated them. But the rehearsal went very well - not perfect yet, but
woody_whistler has come a long way as a singer since spring. Look out MiRF - here we come!
Poor Pepperkins has to spend today locked in her condo - they need to come in to repaint the doorframe they replaced, and I don't want to come home to a paint-covered bunbun. Management is also re-keying the lobby door. Not sure how the burglars got in, but enough people have moved in and out in the last year that it's probably a good idea anyway. Of course, the 7:15 AM knock on my door to give me the new key was a bit of a surprise, but I can't be too upset about it.
So this is my last free weekend for at least a month. Pleh. Anyone wanna see Stardust this weekend? Looks awesome. I have to spend a big chunk of it sewing, as reality interfered with my getting anything done in the evenings this week. And do some general cleaning and organizing, as this'll be my last chance to do that for a while.
Farmers Insurance rocks. I've been nothing but pleased with them through this whole thing. I got a call from the adjuster at 9:15 the morning after the robbery, and they have already issued my check, while the Chicago Police department hasn't even assigned me a detective yet. (Not that I really want my stuff back - I'm much happier getting all new stuff). The guy was easily reachable, answered all my questions and explained things to me clearly - sometimes twice when I needed it. I was able to e-mail all my documentation in (or could have faxed it if it was easier), and generally they made the whole process as painless as possible. I highly recommend them if you're looking for renters insurance - but be sure to get the "full replacement cost coverage"rider - it's only like $4 more a month for me and it's going to mean more than $1K more value for this.
