Part of why I hate my job

I just spent something like 5 hours with these people, supposedly "having a good time". They are alternatively boring or shouting at each other. I sat in the middle between two conversational cliques and hardly anyone included me. Anytime anyone has an issue or needs something, there has to be 15 minutes about why it won't be done. Um - or you could just ask me and I'll take care of it. That's what I DO you know....

(Boss has digicam he doesn't know how to use. He doesn't even know if it has a memory card or a usb connection. I'll bring my laptop in, which has a card reader and several USB ports, and download them for him. No, everyone had to yell and babble about how he'd never do it, or why he has something that he doesn't know how to use, or try to explain it to him. He's not going to do it. Shut up and let me do it.)

It was a big meal with lots of drinking. We left at 2-ish. I left the restaurant at 5 to go down the street to Starbucks to do my phone interview. Walked by at 5:40 and they were still there, so I went back in to see if I could get a lift back to somewhere where there were trains. They sat and talked and drank and yelled, and finally at 6:30 the left the table - to go have coffee and mroe drinks at the bar. At that point I was like "Look people, at this point it's going to take me 90 minutes to get home. I'm out of here" and left. They are probably still there.

Oh, and the HR manager gave everyone in the office a christmas card. Except me.
