Proof that its a living tradition
Feb. 28th, 2009 11:44 pmNow, there us a traditional Sea Chantey that begins:
In South Australia I was born
Heave Away, Haul Away
South Australia, 'round Cape Horn
We're bound for South Australia
Now, A while back Christ and Tom Kastle wrote 'Burnham Harbor" which began:
In the Windy City I was born
Sand Away, Scrape Away
Early on a Chicago morn
We're stuck in Burnham Harbor
Then today at the Maritime Festival we were treated to a lovely little ditty by Salty Walt Askew and some of his less reputable friends that goes:
In San Francisco I was born!
Heave Away, Haul Away
In San Francisco I first bought porn!
We're bound for San Francisco
Ummm - yeah. Did I mention I love my work?
