Routine is soothing
Jul. 14th, 2009 07:32 pmPeople thought I was nuts for going in to work this afternoon.
OK, they thought I was nuts for getting back in a car 48 hours after my first real car wreck and driving 1/3 of the way cross country. That part I can't argue with. I think we need a new word because I can't adequately express the level of stress without flailing, and flailing hurst my bruises.
But it was good to get back to the office. Routine can be soothing, and while I was initially afraid that I'd manage to work myself into hysterics when I got home tonight I think I'll be mostly OK. I told COMB that if he yelled at me at all this week I'd probably cry. Also, walking around the office helped me start to work out some of the worst of the muscle aches.
I had a nice bland but nutritious dinner (stress makes my stomach wonky), and plan an evening of PBS, a whirlybath and an early bed.
Pepper has finally come back out from UnderTheBed and done her usual happy-salad-dance so she seems to be recovering as well.
