Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters is the latest offering from Quirk Books, publisher of the classic Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
Sadly, though it is shown in the trailer, Willoughby is not in fact drowned in a lake by an enraged cephalopod. I find myself of the opinion that such a scene would have greatly benefitted either this work or that of Miss Austen.
Unlike P&P&Z, this work strays much further from Austen's original text - which is all to the good as far as I am concerned. One issue I had with that book (well, aside from an insufficient number of quality ninjas) was that in it's attempts to retain much of the original work it had long slow passages. S&S&SM retains only the character names, traits and overall story arc but is clearly much more willing to toss anything overboard that would get in the way of a ripping good story.
( The family of Dashwood had been settled in Sussex since before the Alteration, when the waters of the world grew cold and hateful to the sons of man and darkness moved on the face of the earth. )
