nuthin much
Dec. 23rd, 2009 04:52 pmnapping, baking, reading, watching tv, playing on the computer, more napping. Still plugging away at the job stuff - have an interview on Tuesday up in Evanston for a marketing company just down the street from an old apartment of mine.
Got a card from someone from one of my newsgroups who dropped out of sight for a while - the last we heard she was going to visit an online friend in Australia last summer so we had a big wurree when we nawt heered fum her (oops lolspeek) but at least she is alive and back home and probably just shy about us being all worried about her. But at least she's OK and she'll tell us when she's ready.
Finally made connection with the UPS person - a package was on its last delivery but I never got a tag or door card. Luckily the person who sent it (It's a Sekrit Cheezfrend) got an e-mail abotu it and contacted the person running the exchange to get in touch with me. I had a big note on the front door "NO REALLY I'M HOME!!!!" and managed to get it today. Can't open it until NYE but at least it's here.
I made Pepper a diggy box (a large box with a couple of "doors" cut in the sides and some crumply paper inside) and she's slowly deciding if she likes it. She likes to hang out on top, and I stuck some apple branches through tiny holes for nibblings. Even hung a little shatterproof ornament on one and took a picture - I'll get round to loading them later.
Still haven't gone back to try and tackle the new kitchen light again. Bleh.
We've got just under an inch of snow but it's shifting over to sleet and freezing rain. I went out to salt the sidewalks (since I'm home and have nothing else to do) and it was all sting-y on my face. Don't know about a White Christmas for Chicago - we're once again on the rain-snow line so we are most likely to be inside an ice cube instead due to rain then freezing all over everything.
