I'm dreaming of a WET Christmas!
Dec. 24th, 2009 02:21 pm36 degrees and raining. Bleh.
Went to go buy stamps and the post office closed at noon. Even the lobby with the post boxes and the stamp machine was closed. Fooey.
Lines were long at Devon Market, but I managed to pick up some spices and bunny greens, then directed traffic in the parking lot for a bit (There were 3 people waiting for a car to pull out and I could see 2 spots further along that they couldn't) before heading home.
Hauled a bag of salt up the stairs to refill my porch bucket - if I'm the only person salting this half of the building I'll need it. Again, it's like being board President - enlightened self-interest. If I salt as far as I can throw from my deck, then I can get down 3 flights of outside stairs without breaking anything important. The benefit to the other residents is just a pleasant side effect.
Even Pepper thinks it's nasty out. While I had the back door open to refill the salt, she hopped out as usual to investigate (mostly to see if the neighbors have spilled anything tasty). She did a sort fo 3 foot loop, stopped to glare at me (because of course the icky cold wet is clearly my fault) and the thumped and ran back inside where it is warm and dry.
Have to make one more trip to the storage locker for bunny pellets and then I'm curling up to watch Hogfather. Tomorrow there is nothign on the calendar and then Friday I have an IGo car for a couple of hours in the morning to hit the clearance sales.
