But she did get conscripted!
I was peering thru the Capricon list of programming, on the off-change that there woudl be something I wanted to actually go do. I noticed that
seamstrix was listed as doing a panel on "Creative Costuming". Those of you who read her LJ know that she left for England 2 days ago.
So I tossed off an e-mail to this effect to the head of Programming (Bernie) and she sent back "oops - guess that's why I hadn't heard from her. Do you want to do it? We have an awesome green room..."
(NOTE - this will be the first time I have done a panel at Cap, mostly because of their absurd comp membership policy. Most cons will comp you if you do 3 panels or more, but Cap will not. I refuse to pay for the privilege of working for a con. They can have cash, or labor - not both. But this time I get green room access for a very limited amount of work, so I think that's fair. I've already paid my membership)
So I'm doing a panel at Cap. 1 hour's work plus prep time for my weekend nutritional needs isn't a bad trade-off. Saturday 2-3. Be there and listen to me babble.
*tries to figure out what should be on a handout about 'Creative Costuming'*
