the loved my work and hated me.

"some people" said I was "hard to get along with". I pointed out that I had no direct supervisor for most of my time there, and as such received no guidance or direction at all about any "problems". They agreed that that was a fair point but that I was still out. I wrote a note to that effect on my Eval and Exit forms.

Still makes me feel like mildew, though.

So here I am again. No job, no prospects, and an increasing number of short term jobs that are going to make it harder and harder to find a real one.

A favor? I know this is going to send me into a major depression, so I'm going to need a little help. Anyone doing fun cheap stuff or who is willing to have video company or something, please call me. I tend to withdraw when I'm depressed, and that is not good for me. Dragging me out of my apartment would be appreciated - even if I struggle.

Darlin', if it helps any, here's my take on the situation: you were doing your job *right*, and somebody felt threatened by it.

*How* screwed up were the records when you got there, and just how much work did you have to do to get them straightened out again?

Dig deep enough into this and I'll bet you a steak dinner you'll find out that someone above you *hadn't* been doing their job; getting rid of you was the easiest way to play damage control, and try to keep the upper management from finding out about it.

You're a good person and a good worker; when I take over the world I want you workin' for me. [grin]

Boy, does this sound familiar. My dad used to run the R&D department for a processed meat company. When he passed the test to get his Professional Engineer certification on top of his PhD in Chemical Engineering, he became not only overqualified for his job, but his boss's boss's job. Shortly thereafter, he became unemployed. And at his age at that time, everyone told him he was "overqualified" for whatever jobs he applied to; in other words, too old.

He had the knowledge to do the job, and then some. He didn't have the people skills to play office politics.
