Good news: I still have a job
Bad news - they know that I was truly sick because 2 other people (including the client services manager) are out sick today.

and this is the reason more companies should give more sick time. Once a bug gets into the office, it's a real bitch to get rid of as it goes from person to person.

well, as this is still the "30-day probation", I really shouldn't be taking any time at all. But Friday, if I'd had insurance, I might have even gone to the ER - it was very scary.

I have asthma, so I am very prone to lung infections. I get 2-3 a year. With antibiotics I can get over them in a few days. Without, several weeks of coughing technicolor glop and soemtimes blood.

I returned to work after being out 1/2 of Wednesday and all Thursday and Friday last week. My boss chewed me out, as apparently she got sick along with another coworker. And they couldn't take time off as I was already out. So the key is: Make sure you're the first one to get sick, so you get the time off. :-)

Ouch! Though there's always the likelihood that it actually came from someone else... and they were just slower getting it...
