I have a client who has a server power cable stretching across an aisle. They are worried about cleaning crews.

I know where to get secure cord covers, but they would also like the be able to "screw the plug to the wall so it can't come out"

Does anyone know of such a product and/or what one mught be called? Googling a variety of phrases didn't help me much.

*wonders if childproof plugs would do the trick*

Did you ever see those funny outlets (usually in hallways) that have three prongs arranged in a circle? Those are "twist-and-lock" socket for special plugs. When you plug them in to the wall, you twist them, locking them in place and preventing accidental disconnects. A quick call to a local electrician or good hardware store should get your client what they need.

I just came across these myself - I should have thought of them earlier as I worked in an apartment building that had these in the halls.

Thankee!

Page down a bit, and you'll see a couple of covers for things permanently plugged in.

(decent company, I ordered a number of things from them when the kiddles were tiny)
