If it weren't for the fact that these are in bars which are undoubtably smoke-filled and hazy and the fact that I don't drink - I'd love to come along just for the social factor.

Chicago has an indoor smoking ban in all public places.....including pubs. Since I believe all the pubs listed are in Chicago, you should be safe from smoke.

Of course since this whole exercise is based on drinking beer, I'll respectfully decline.

I had heard that the ban for pubs had not gone into effect yet - that they had until sometime next year to comply or something like that.

But I, too, am not a fan of beer.
