They are ordering me a nebulizer.

I can (sort of) the fact that I need 8 meds to remain upright and breathing.

But the fact that I now need "durable medical equipment"...that's scary.

This development is brought on by the fact that I trotted into the doc today to ask if I could switch back to my old Pulmicort inhaler. The Asmanex is nice but it's irritating my throat like Advair does, I've had a constant need to clear my throat for the past month, and doing so is destroying my voice. Also I woke up at 2am to pee and there was something "stuck" in the bottom of my right lung. No wheeze until a really deep breath, and then the sensation of something "pulling" accompanied by a whistling wheeze. Last time I felt one of these it was a bit of nasty the size of my thumbnail when I finally choked it out.

You know, I was doing fine till that horrible bronchial infection I went though in mid-late October. I wonder what happened.

Well, at least there is stuff you can do. YAY for that!

What you describe is similar to what i experienced for five years before they finally told me i had cough asthma. I lost a lot of voice.... *sigh*

Mmm. That feeling you've just described? Much of my childhood was beholden to not getting that to happen.

F*cking hate having asthma. You ever try Singulair?

Been on Singulair for years.

Daily Zyrtec and Singulair plus a steriod inhaler - was asmanex but it is chewing up my voice something awful, so I'm going back to the pulmicort

You'll feel MUCH better...

Refresh my memory: Do you take Xopenex in the neb? If you have albuterol issues (jumpiness, nervousness, etc. after taking it), it may be a good choice for you. It's been the most helpful liquid neb med I've taken, and it also comes in inhaler form...

I have a variety of things to try in the neb - xopanex, albuterol, somethign I can't remember which is a combo thingie. We did the combo thingie yesterday and I was shaking so bad afterwards that i had to wait 10 minutes before I could actually write down my office address for the equipment company to deliver to.

A nebulizer can be quite the pain. My mother's had one for quite some time now.
