jcw_da_dmg can never remember the word "jerkin". He knows it's not a doublet, but can never remember what the exact word is

Yesterday at rehearsal, we were talking abut what to wear to the Durty Nellie's gig.

"I'll probably wear my gerbil"

Well- I got to start this morning with Earl Grey almost squirting out of my nose! That was absolutely hillarious, further proof that you can't make this stuff up! Durty Nellie's was the name of an AWESOME pub in Ireland ~sigh~ ah nostalgia.

*giggle* I have the perfect way to remember the difference between a doublet and a jerkin. "Only a jerk wears a skirt" SO not true but a terrific mnemonic!

It wouldn't have helped ME, Dear. I keep "gherkin", "jerkin" and "gerbil" in the same mental file folder for some reason; and when I'm tired, I'm not very careful where I "look".

To be perfectly accurate, I stammered around a bit and my brain farted while looking in the files for the right word - "gerbil" was the first folder that came out of that little-used file.

It was a LONG Saturday.
