Tribune article on why rabbits don't make good Easter gifts



"Toni Greetis, rabbit adoption coordinator at Red Door Animal Shelter in West Rogers Park, kisses Frisco, a Dutch rabbit. The shelter had 12 rabbits on Wednesday. With Easter weekend approaching, rabbit advocates want people know that rabbits have an average life span of 10 years and can get aggressive if they are spayed or neutered. Many rabbits appear on the shelters' doorstep a few months after Easter or are turned loose in the woods where they face certain death, advocates say. April 4, 2007."

Aw, hooray for Frisco! Adorable bunnies. I want to snuggle the last bunny...I'm just too much of a sucker for lops. I might just have to get a bunny and a dog next year. The blurb says "can get aggressive if they are spayed or neutered"... but I would think that it would be the opposite?
