For anyone trying to call or visit me..

My ward has a runoff election on the 17th. I'm screening all my calls until then, and if I don't know you're coming I don't answer the door.

I get at least one call a day from someone or other. At least two days a week someone rings my door buzzer. And 2-3 days a week at least one if not both candidates is at the train station. I tell them "nothing personal, but please leave me alone".

And there are at least two pieces of mail EVERY DAY from one campaign or another - some masquerading as regular mail because they are written by "a concerned citizen" to urge me to vote for their pet candidate.

All of this has been going on for more than a month now. I made up my mind weeks ago so this is all just really annoying.

Funny. Once I told the volunteers that I was voting on a Throw the Rascals Out ticket, they stopped calling me.

the last two days I've had to run the gauntlet at the Jarvis station. Wed was the challenger handing out bananas and today was the incumbent with coffee and donuts. I was like "No offense, but I'm pretty much done with politicians this week."

You could give them the same answer I do the evangelists at Morse. "Your kink is not my kink, but your kink is okay." It confuses them and amuses me. Just brightens my day.
