Barring some really unexpected absentee ballot results, it looks like I'm stuck with my old alderman for another term.
If we're lucky, he will realize that winning by 138 votes (1.8% of the vote) might indicate that people weren't real thrilled with the job he's been doing, and that maybe the other guy had a couple of really good ideas.
Then again, this IS Chicago, after all....

I'm glad that he feels better about himself now, but all it has accomplished is making Chicago the laughing stock of the foodie world, and given a lot of cheap publicity to any restaurant willing to pay the $500 fine to get the news coverage. The only place to be prosecuted so far - a hot dog stand. He framed his citation.
