The only proper response to smushing one's shared car on Friday night is, of course, a weekend of goofing off. While I did do a fair amount of housework, it's more self-defense than anything else. Bunny is still shedding profusely, and if I want to enjoy air conditioning when it hits 90 on Monday, I'd best get rid of most of the filter-clogging fluff wafting about.

Yesterday morning was errands - nice and gentle so as to work out my adrenaline-fried muscles. Dropped off a heap of library books, picked up the gee-tar (and got free ice cream because the donater works at an apt rental agency which was doing a promo), and hit the local asian import place for nifty shoes. Got a pair of black/multi brocade flip-flops and a pair of blue brocade mary-jane style slippers. Got my hair cut - shorter than I'd hoped but that's what you get a 2 months after you try to double-process your own hair. Sigh. It's not QUITE mom-short, but it's a definite difference.

Came home and attacked my bathroom for really the first time since I moved in last September. scrubbed and mopped (and finally cleaned up that broken blush from sometime in March), located all the half-bars of soap that had fallen down behind things, and made the bathtub safe for humanity. Of course, the only proper response to a nice clean bathtub is a nice long hot bath, which put paid to the last of the lingering muscle aches. Added in a deep conditioner overnight (yes, it's rare, but I occasionally break out in 'girl'), and I was done for the day.

Today it was the Roomba that got the workout. I must have emptied the poor thing 10 times between the kitchen and the living room. And I didn't even make it do the bunny-hangout behind the futon - that got a sweeping and then a once-over with the hand-vac. Cleaned the litterbox and took out 3 bags of trash.

Then I went out to get a few more things done and to let the dust settle a bit. Since we cut off the fried bits I had to recolor, so I stopped by Sally's. Since the ends are nearly bleached, I got the med-auburn AND the red-brown color glazes and mixed them, then left them on for 90 minutes. On to Walgreens to discover that the diet coke sale ended yesterday (*sniffle*) but there are always things you don't remember you need till you get there. Because I've still got a lingering case of "girl", I decided to try the Neutrogena microdermabrasion kit (I got the refill because I can't see the extra $18 for a widget to do what I can perfectly well do by hand). My face certainly looks nice and glowy but it is a bit sting-y. Also it is really hard to rinse off all those little crystals - I'm not sure they all finally came off till I was in the shower rinsing out the hair color.

I wish poor Pepper liked this kind of pampering - she's gone from "splodey shed" to "OMG your fur is coming off!". There are a couple of patches on her butt where ALL the fluff has come off, and it looks like a hole with black velvet at the bottom where the new fur is growing in. Never seen THAT before, but [livejournal.com profile] stealthbunny assures me it is normal (though a little tummy-sicking). And she's all moody - the slightest movement in her peripheral vision sends her running full-tilt out of the room. She's eating, but in smaller batches - instead of inhaling her pellets, she comes back 2-3 times before they are all gone. She normally hates to be touched most of the time but it's worse - not even any brief head-pets. And instead of shoving stray papers out of the way or simply running over them, she's actually attacking and tearing them. I managed to rescue my copy of 'Heart's Ease', but the cover letter for the Quad Cities gig was a loss. I'm not sure if it's hormonal changes, itchiness, or just knowing she looks kind of funny, but she's certainly miss thumpy-grumpy this week. Poor thing.

I've been using the Loreal home microdermabrasion for about 2 years now. 3 times a week for the first year but I'm down to once a week now. I follow it with a Melaleuca(tea tree)acne cleanser which both removes the grit and does nice mediciney things to the freshly opened pores. Mostly, the grit has done a wonderful job of slowly scraping away almost 20 years of built up scar tissue. I don't get any less acne, but what I do get no longer festers up into massive infections as it tries to fight it's way up thru scar tissue. This makes healing faster, resulting in less new scar tissue.

The sting-y goes away pretty quickly, or at least, you stop noticing it.
