mmm - rainbow sherbert!

Anyway, my back still aches but time on the heating pad definitely helped.

Poor Pepper got stood up today! I got a call from Mr. Wrigley's human that she had a last minute rehearsal and that they couldn't make it, but that she wanted to reschedule. Oh well. Still, it was good to have an excuse to get the place all cleaned and the foster cage all set up. Mopped the floors - even washed the rugs. But there was still lots of time to nap.

Also made a couple of pitchers of iced green tea - this batch with mint. Mmmmm. Of course, now that I'm all prepped to ride out the expected heat, now we're 'sposed to get one day at 90 but be back in the 70s by Friday.

Hoping that the screaming pre-teens will have all gotten their Harry Potter fix by then, Aaron and I plan to hit the Village North on Wednesday evening if anyone wants to tag along.

Read 'Harlequin' (got it from the library). Hrm - maybe LH is finally getting the hint that people were getting tired of the pron-fest that her last few books have been. There was actual plot (though with a couple of large holes) and some interesting character stuff. Still, I'm glad I didn't pay for it.

Hey, I'm one of those Harry Potter fix-needers!... well, for the books, anyway. Still haven't seen the last movie yet, much less the current, but my book is on order and I'll be ready to mug the mail carrier on release.

Thanks for the feedback on Harlequin. I had just about given up on LH, and certainly stopped buying her books. In fact, I think I had even stopped reading a while back, although kept getting copies through paperbackswap.com. Can't remember where I left off, though, but I'll put Harlequin down on my wishlist eventually.

Apparently we're missing your heatwave this time -- we're supposed to be in the 70s for the next few days. Yay! Phooka-outdoor-romps!

Yeah - my verdict on harlequin was "wow - that didn't totally suck"

May not be on IM much today - the back injury from Friday is worse, so I'm calling teh doc as soon as she opens

I can tell you that both movies 4 & 5 felt very rushed to me - mostly due to having to get through so much plot in an amount of time that competes with a young muggle's bladder capacity. Far too much of the books got left out. This was not the case in the first three. And there were plot points that just got SCHMUSHED in the process which I won't go into here.

Poor baby, got stood up!

But there'll be other chances for them... I know there will! :)

I figured out which author you were talking about just from the initials and the comment about the tone of the last few books.

I figure her last good book was Obsidian Butterfly. Narcissus in Chains was okay, but... I gave up after Cerulean Sins.
