My front door STILL isn't fixed - Landlord got a very irate phone call last night. It will be fixed today OR ELSE!!! *fumes* From the outside it looks fine, but the lock is being held in place by 2 screws set into what is left of the door frame.

Saldy, I discovered another missing item - the lovely brooch-watch that [livejournal.com profile] suzaw gave me at Duckon. Luckily, I still have the little brochure that it came with, and it turns out that it is a stock item, so I'll be able to get an exact replacement. Rennies on my flist - check out www.clipclocks.com - they are really neat looking and VERY handy for those of us who need to follow schedules at faire.

The only thing I still can't find ANY documentation on is the digital camera that [livejournal.com profile] jmaynard gave me. I don't even know what kind it was! I'm going to have to go back through my LJ to see if I wrote anything about it. I told the adjusters to just proceed on the claim without the camera and I will submit that separately.

It was an Olympus D-400Z. Don't expect to get very much for it...

I have full replacement coverage, so I'll get a new one that has as many of the same features as it had.

Thanks - I KNOW I have the book around somewhere but it's so small it's probably behind the dresser or something

I have a clipclock, but the battery ran out, and I haven't gotten it replaced yet.

In the meantime, I've made watches with stretchy bead bracelets, so I can wear them with the face down and they look like a bangle, not a watch.

If other stuff gets stolen because your lock is broken, that's damned good reason to sue the landlord, just sayin'...

Oh yeah - I had a message left on my work VM from the landlord saying "I tried to call you at home but your phone was busy - Your neighbors heard that you were robbed and I wanted to check up on you - make sure you filed a police report and to make sure everything was fixed"

She probably left it while I was leaving the "MY ($^#)%&^#(% DOOR ISN'T FIXED YET!!!!!" message on her VM....

I called back this AM and left her another message "yes I filed a police report and no I'm not satisfied with how things were handled. Plz call me!!!"

Your camera was an Olympus Camedia D-400zoom.

Why do I know this? Turns out I have the book. Found it yesterday when I was cleaning my desk.

sorry.

THAT'S why I couldn't find it! I forgot that I'd loaned it you for those portfolio shots. It was driving me crazy, because I'm normally crazy-organized about keeping stuff like that.

I do need either the book back or a scan or copy of the cover, so I can use it as documentation that I once DID own it, in case the insurance company wants proof.

I'm only just managing to catch up on flist stuff, so my apologies for coming to all this late, but: *HUGS* Gah, this is horrendous. I'm so sorry you've had to go through something like this. Dad was burgled once (while he was actually IN THE HOUSE) and it's a horrible, horrible feeling. *hugs you all over again*

Maybe it's the fact that I was first robbed about 10 years ago, maybe it's the fact that we temporarily upped my antidepressants, or that I passed beyond stressed about three weeks ago, but I'm actually not all that upset about it. Annoyed yes - paperwork sucks. But not traumatized or anything. I'm OK, my bunny is OK - the rest of it is just "stuff" and not even particularly nice "stuff" at that. I can probably get better once the insurance comes through.

"Dear Mr. Burglar-Man: Thank you for stealing my crappy old electronics so that I can get new ones. Would you like to come back and steal anything else? I'd like a new TV plz thx..."

*lol* Glad that you're able to feel that way about the stuff. So long as nothing of hugely emotional significance was taken then that's the main thing. When my Dad was burgled they took almost nothing, and what they took had little to no value monetarily, but one item was a watch my mother had given him that he'd had thirty years. Stuff like that you can't replace.

Yeah - nothing irreplacable was taken. My neighbors across the hall had their digital camera taken, with all the pictures from a honeymoon visit to family in Belize. I even found some of their jewelry in my apartment, including her graduation ring, so at least they got THAT back.

I wish I could take credit but it was [livejournal.com profile] suzaw that gave that to you if I remember the story correctly.
