Good for you- I showed my lovel hubby this and it convinced him to get our spares made today. We just bought and no longer have a super to fall back on.
I have trouble getting spares made because I do not work near anyplace that makes keys, and the hardware stores I know of are not open in the evenings.
Well, I don't know if this will help, especially with the CTA construction going on, but there's a Home Depot just south of Diversey and Halstead. Walk a few blocks from the Purple Line, and you can have keys...
Home Depot and other big box hardware stores are generally open into the evening, though, and you could use iGo to get to any of several that are a short drive from you. For example, there's a Home Depot at Oakton and McCormick, and a Lowes on Touhy somewhere west of McCormick.
Also, Diversey can't be much more than 1/2 mile from a stop that isn't closed, if it's between Fullerton and Belmont. I always forget exactly what the other Brown/Purple stops are in that area, but I'm pretty sure it's in that general vicinity.
