I was just "talked to" about my absenteeism.

I told them that I would try to make sure that none of my friends dies any time soon.

(I missed a bunch of time in March and April- but that was all lung stuff that got adressed when I was finally able to see a specialist about it - so hopefully that won;t be a problem in the future)

So hear that folks - none of you are allowed to die! (At least until after January 1st)

Definitely! Wendy, I was very sorry to hear about Janet... we were out of town and out of Internet contact at the time, and I have just caught up on my LJ reading recently. I guess this is a paltry way to say it, but I didn't want to let more time go by. Take care.

Also make sure that you stay healthy and away from germs on the weekends (in whatever way you know how to avoid germs at Faire). And get a flu shot. Maybe, routine use of vitamin C? It has been shown to work for athletes to prevent colds.

It is a total pain that they don't recognize the legitimacy of the reasons that you had to miss time already. Bleh!

Leave it to bean counters and coporate clones to completely miss the point. Sorry they gave you trouble- not long ago I got 'talked to' about not accounting for my time effectively enough, and nearly died of panic when we had no internet or email all day Friday and I could only account for about 4 hours of work and 4 hours of our entire office screwing off- thankfully my boss has realized that I actually DO work... but I know part of how you're feeling.
