All right. I get it. It's snowing.

Good gravy people - you'd think fire was raining from the heavens or something.

Guess what? This is CHICAGO. It's WINTER.
That means that sometimes frozen water will fall out of the sky.

Now shut up already.

And, for cryin' out loud, don't freak out because there's a dusting of snow on the road. Slow down a bit, find a good radio station or pop on a recording and stop driving like you have to dodge each snowflake or die trying.

(No it wasn't a fun commute home tonight!)

Yeah - people in Atlanta have an excuse. People in Chicago, not so much....

Could be worse. My brother lives in Winnipeg. He gets 60 frost free days per year! They measure the wind chill in the number of seconds exposed skin will survive before being frostbitten. Or is it minutes? I forget.
I finally bought a snow blower today. While you (in Chicago) had rain on Saturday, we (in Madison) had snow followed by sleet. This led to HEAVY snow being buried beneath an inch or more of ice. Walking and driving have been very interesting activities for the last few days.
I pinched a nerve in my back a couple of years ago (genetic condition - thanks dad) and nearly ended up in the hospital again on Sunday after trying to shovel/pickaxe this mess (especially after the snowplow dumped another foot of snow at the end of the driveway). Even though I can't afford the d@mn thing, I broke down and bought the snow blower. Better to break my wallet than to break me...

Oh I know it could be worse. 'm just tired of all these people shrieking like the sky is falling. Dude - unless you moved here from Jamaica sometime in the past 6 months, this isn't exactly new.

And well DUH - Madison is NORTH of us, so anyone with a brain would think "Hmm, it might be colder there". And HOW long have you lived there?

Snow is part of the reason I'm not much for the "house and yard with white picket fence" kind of thing. A yard I'm allergic to, snow I'd have to shovel, etc. No thanks. "gonna buy me a condo...."

I was looking at the radar earlier today, and it looked like Madison was right in the sweet spot of the current weather system. Compared to them, I'm sure I in Milwaukee got off pretty light, and it was a bitch and a half getting home around 10 tonight.

Especially considering it snowed ... um, 3 days ago?

Excuse me? I LOVE gravy - that properly tastes like meat. "Country gravy", "Red-Eye Gravy", etc - those aren't gravies, they are sauces.

And "biscuits and goop" are NOT a proper breakfast.

Hhmmpph! "goop" indeed!

But agree regarding "Red-eye gravy" - it isn't even SAUCE! It's water!
