I have no idea - I don't use G-mail and not too many people bother to write crap like this for Thunderbird and Firefox.

But I wanted to help spread the word, in case anyone I know is affected.

Nothing to do with JavaScript. Everything to do with how mail is handled and delivered. This is why all of my mail accounts are POP-based, rather than web-based.
