the seller can't make the closing deadline in the contract of Wednesday. Therefore they have to ask us for an extension. They've not done that yet.

So I'll cancel all my reservations in the morning, and call my landlord to see if holding over a few weeks could be worked out. So I should have more info my wednesday I guess.

Hmm, I sense the malevolent hand of the seller's attorney failing to be at work. I mean, how hard can it be for a non-occupying seller to close? Given that all your ducks remain linearly oriented, I'm sure it will sort out okay.

IANAL, but this sounds to me like they are in breach of contract if they can't close on Wednesday. Ask your lawyer about getting compensation from them.
