anyone want a dvd player for $9.99?

I got my coupons for the digital converter thingie the other day.

(My main TV already has a digital converter in the DVDr, but I might want to add another TV in the bedroom or office, so I requested the coupons anyway)

They give you $40 towards a converter box.

I went to Amazon.com and looked at their eligible machines, and some of them were combo dvd players and converters, for only $49.99 with free shipping.

So for a net of $9.99 I now have a DVD player coming.

And if you haven't already and you have an older TV (or might want to get a cheap TV later) go ahead and get your coupons.

Didn't even think of that - we have a TV in the bedroom that is currently only used to play video games and watch VCR so requested coupon for that one.

... I didn't even think such things existed as a combo dvd/converter!

And here I was so sick of hearing about the adverts and warnings about the switch-over.

I've applied for a coupon. After all both my tvs are over ten years old, and I just asked for one coupon. Shop with me when I get my coupie? I'm sure my dvd player will die at any time now. It's about the right time...

And even if you don't want them for yourself, some people are having trouble getting them, so you can donate your coupons. There was an article about it in the Tribune on Sunday.

pooh. They don't appear to have it anymore.
