apparently my $15 spirograph is selling for $40-60 on E-bay.

So do I get another later-model one to play with and sell this one?

IMHO, if this is one of the originals where you pin the wheels to a cardboard backing, I'd keep it.

I was never able to get the ones with the pegs replacing the pins to work properly.

keep it, play with it and enjoy.

The mental price is more valuable than the physical one.
besides you'll regret getting rid of it.

and here I am the exact opposite. If you don't care about HOW it works (pins v pegs) then sell it, use the money to get a later model one and enjoy the fruits of your smart shopping

I'd hang on to it. You'll probably get more enjoyment out of playing with it than you would with the new one and it doesn't sound like there's enough of a markup to make it worth the effort (at least, it wouldn't to ME).

Keep it an dplay with it. Keep your eyes open for another one, buy it cheap and then resell that one for a good profit.

What would you do with the profit? If you'd have more fun spending the money, then sell it. Otherwise, keep it. It might be worth even more someday.

I recently sold my "Cosmic Encounter" set for over $300! Who knew?
