WiFi at the library

my cable modem is borked so I have no access at home until at least Tuesday night. I'm popping on at the library to bleed off some of the pressure on my inbox so it won't explode.
I heard from Ari last night. Through my tracfone "you're running out of minutes" beeping I was able to make out that she was indeed going to be discharged - and after only 5 units! (Some of the floor staff were against this but I suspect this kind of thing happens more often than not when you have no insurance.) She was "all pink" and really looking forward to a good meal and curling up in her own bed. Chelsea was a real trouper - stayed home to watch Breena, made a caramel cake for dinner and sent mom a piece! She has a follow-up appointment at the clinic "just down the street" for Wednesday.
I'm coming down with a cold as well as slightly overstressed, so I'm mostly hibernating this weekend. I had to take the bunbun to the vet and made a MAJOR Sams Club run so I may well have enough food to last till spring.
Pepper saw the "kissy-vet" this morning. (Dr. G uses that little babytalk voice we all use to our pets and also sneaks in little smooches during the exam. It's clear that she loves critters). We're going to try stepping down her antibiotic that she's been on for 4 months now and see if she stays "in remission" as it were. I'm sposed to give it once every other day for 2 weeks and then call in. Unless something changes we go back in 2 months.
While we were in the waiting room, I heard sounds of a scuffle in the back room, some loud chirping and squawking, some clanging, and then a "GOT HIM!". Guess things must get a little exciting around there sometimes :) Also saw one of the world's waggiest mutt-puppies and a very disapproving big brown bunny with HUGE adorable bunny feets.
We had about 2-3" of snow and it's been bugger-all cold out. Wind chills yesterday morning were well below zero, which is more usual for January than December. Part of why the idea of going out again last night did not appeal to me.
*sniffle* I has a grumpy

Date: 2008-12-06 06:27 pm (UTC)But Yay! for kissy-vets! Its so awesome to have a great vet. I adore mine. He's not kissy, but is so gentle with the boys, and patient with all my questions! He was amazing when I had to put Felix to sleep, understanding and patient, but realistic and honest. I really appreciated him for that.

Date: 2008-12-07 01:10 am (UTC)Did you get any plucking in while you were at the vet? Poor Pepperpants... not only vets, not only kissies, but Wendy grabs shedding fur and pulls it out while she has Pepper captured and more or less helpless.
Protect the toesies!
