I like watching the news on holidays

It's when the people who haven't enough seniority to get the time off are in charge. You see reporters you've never seen, cameras pointing the wrong way, and the occasional wide-eyed fidgeting.

It's a little like the passengers having to fly the plane.

Our local CBS station seems to have its regular anchor, but the weather girl is someone new. I would guess the stylist who usually works with them is off tonight, because the strapless black & white herringbone dress, black turtleneck sweater & black patent leather belt just under her boobs is not at all flattering. I looked up and went "Oh, honey, no."

Here in Madison ABC has a Christmas service and CBS is showing a movie. None of people named in the intro are on the NBC station (I don't normally watch NBC). The weather "girl" is wearing a sweater that looks like she spilled something on it.

You'd think the folks - even the third team - in Chicago would at least know the basics...

BTW, you might want to pop over to my friend [livejournal.com profile] cathyr19355's journal. She's a costumer, and occasionally posts about that, such as this entry (http://cathyr19355.livejournal.com/86969.html)...
