I think I have figured out the cause of Pepper's random 2-4AM thumpfests. She will be in the kitchen and will runrunrunrun-skid-runrun under the bed and then THUMP for about 5 minutes. Clearly something was startling her.
Today I saw a mouse run under the dishwasher.
That would explain things.
Anyone have a cat I can borrow?

Indoors, an affectionate cushion. Outside, a hard wired hunter! Garden tiger, for sure. Luckily these two eat most of their prey. We usually only get to see the green wobbly bit they leave...
Chihuahua? Mid morning snack... ;)

Date: 2009-01-18 03:35 am (UTC)I think the word has gotten out in the mouse kingdom that the house with 4 cats in it is NOT a good place to try to move in! Haven't seen one for at least 3 weeks.

Date: 2009-01-18 04:27 pm (UTC)I've seen them outside in my backyard, though.
I suppose the fact that this house used to have two cats (and still has one, even though the mouser is the one who passed away) could have something to do with that.
Of course at one point the house had four rabbits (and now has two) in it, so the mice could just be confused...
