• For a homophobic bastard, Warren's invocation wasn't too bad - till he went to the Lord's Prayer. Pretty insensitive for anyone not Christian.


• BBC live video feed - crashed


• Why is the VPs oath longer than that of President?


• OK - an old Jewish guy, a Chinese guy raised in france, and a black man making beautiful music - pretty symbolic, ya know.


• CNN live video feed - crashed


• I have audio streaming fromm the local news radio station


• My entire office has stopped working and is watching/listening.


• "We reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals" - BINGO!!!!


• Got my CNN feed back. Looks like the audio is about 3 seconds delayed

I got quite teary eyed- if for no other reason than we once again have a president who can TALK!!! I enjoyed the content of his speech immensely, I now expect him to walk the walk. I've gotten so used to being disappointed in our Chief Executinve I'm kinda afraid to hope.

As a side note- free verse is much better on the written page. When read aloud it kinda sounds like a weird speech by someone with timing issues. For spoken poetry you need at least a regular meter if not rhymning.

Why is the VPs oath longer than that of President?

For that matter, why is the wording different at ALL between the two oaths? Are they something like wedding vows, with a section where you can insert your own verbiage? Weird.
