I also adjusted my W4. Until this year, I was always +/- $100 on fed/state, but with the condo now I have really no clue at all what my tax ought to be. Combine that with taking a loss on the band this year (I put a couple grand into producing the CD) and the new homebuyer credit and I really have a truly ridiculous refund coming back.
Next year I will have the homeowner exemption in place on the property taxes, hopefully a band profit, some idea of what my electrical bills will be (counts towards the home office tax deduction) and a full year's worth of mortgage insurance etc to deduct. Based on how all THAT works out, I can hopefully adjust everything for 2010 so that I'm not giving the government such a big loan every year.
