but SOMETHING leaked out of my ears early this morning and now I feels MUCH better! About 10 hours after taking the first dose of antibiotic my right ear popped for the first time in a week.

It's still sore and sensitive but I can't believe how much better I feel today.

warm and damp? Probably a small rupture. My right ear has apparently got scarring from several of those but the docs never seem too concerned

Warm, damp, yellowish, with a few little blood flecks. I'm thinking the swelling went down to the point that the infection could drain, and since I sleep on my side, that was the way it drained.

Yay for goo not being in my head any more!

There was something else an immunologist told me a few years ago- your nasal and Eustachian cavities can fill with (if my recollection is correct) lymphatic fluid during major stresses on your immune system, like infections and such, and in turn can 'drain' or leak as the pressure and infection heal...? I'm fuzzy on all the details, sorry.

I'm glad you're feeling better. Having your brain pour out your ears will do that to you. :-)

Ahh! The pleasures of infection leaving the body! It a proven fact that the body perceives the sudden absence of long term pain as pleasure.
