An actual vacation!

wendyzskiFor the first time in a long time I'm going on an actual vacation! Not a con or a faire, but an actual going somewhere and doing vacation-y things! It's so strange to have an actual summer weekend available, but with the seeming shift to later season faires for us I really wanted to do this.
Wednesday 7/8 I pick up my rental car at the Enterprise location 3 blocks from my house. Run a couple of errands, pack it up, and find somewhere to park it.
Up Thursday morning at a reasonable hour and head out on 90 east as far as Rochester, NY (9 hours) and then spend the night at the Microtel.
Up on Friday morning to drive the remaining 4 hours to Moreau Lake State Park for a weekend of camping fun with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

the_phookabunny and some of our friends, both human and lapine at Bunfest 2009! I'm spending Fri, Sat and Sun (10,11,12) there, for camping, birding, napping, swimming, and talking. LOTS of talking. Also groomings and combings and nail trimmings, with Ronie Scissorhands - between her own and fosters she's bringing SIX buns!
Monday 7/13 I set off as early as is practical because it's an 11-hour driving day! All the way back west on 90 as far as Elkhart IN (An extra hour drive saves me about $50) to get in to the Knights Inn for a decent night's sleep.
Then on Tuesday morning it's about 3 hours home, drop off the bunny, the gear and the car before heading in to work at noon-ish.
Yes it's a loooong drive, but I want to bring Pepper and it's easily twice as expensive to fly her anywhere as it would be for me. Like me she likes BEING other places but not so much with the "getting there" part of things. We've never driven further than 6 hours together - she mostly hangs out in her litterbox and disapproves of the whole process. But once there she settles down quickly. She will have a large covered pen when we are there and a smaller pen with carrier at night. I'll be bringing my cot and sleeping in Ronie's spare tent.
