Travel out was hell - unplowed sidewalks with a luggage cart, station under construction, and waiting 45 minutes in below-zero temperatures for the cab that never came.

I forgot how comfy and pouffy the beds at the Sheraton are. 4 pillows and a big pouffy comforter. Mmmmmm. Pity [livejournal.com profile] ashtalet snores.

I managed to get to most of the food in the consuite on-time, so I was reasonably well-fed. That con program for the Palm actually came in handy for that.

My old roomate and his wife are expecting. A girl that I remember as a bump in her mom's tummy has boobies. I feel old.

I actually managed to sign up for a massage slot. I think my shoulders are probably 3" lower than they were before.

Everyone loved the new dress. Pictures are being e-mailed to me. I have been asked to do a "how I did this" demo at the March Costumer's Guild meeting about it. I've also been asked to be a lady-in-waiting at Siouxland faire, on the basis of the dress.

The wedding was lovely. The bride had to be reminded to breathe, and the groom mixed up the sign of the cross, but the reverend (Brian Leo) was cracking jokes and it was very moving. Guests were in mundane dress clothes, historicals, anime uniforms, and everything in between. The ushers were a bit confused, because when they asked "Are you a friend of the bride or the groom?" nearly everyone said "Yes." The ended up just sort of parceling out everyone more or less evenly. The reception was a great party. Good cake, good music, good people. Nothing caught fire. Somewhere around 4AM the bride, having changed into sweats some time ago, was about to poddle off to bed and had to be reminded that she still had her tiara on.

The room parties wer low-key but fun. Many seemed to involve sitting around in the dark. The "London Below" party was fun, and I got a "Mind The Gap" sticker for my badge, which I promptly switched to my cleavage. (The sticker, not the badge.) Most of the drinks were good but sticky and sweet, so I ended up on a quest for "really, I just want a beer" by Saturday night. They were making rude baloon sculptures in the Duckon party. I missed the Virgin Sacrifice, but I did pass by the 3 young sacrifice- ees later on. Two Klingon women were beginning negotiations with their "keeper".

I had a chance to really chat with a "friend of a friend" for a while, and I think there may be a nice relationship in the offing. We ended up necking in a conference room for a while. Maybe I'm not such an old fogie after all.

Dealer's room was mostly same old same old. Bought a copy of "Bored of the Rings" to replace my tattered and missing-pages edition. Handed out many Minstrosity pre-order flyers.

Went to Mitsuwa japanese mall after the con. Had yummy soup because I think I'm getting another lung infection. Bought many snacks that I can't read the labels of, and strawberry pocky. Napped on the sofa most of the evening, and took lots of vitamins. Definitely getting lung infection. Must call doctor in the morning for another round of antibiotics. Bleh.

Sounds like you had fun.

You know, you could make these post much shorter by just saying went someplace cool, did lots of stuff, got lung infection ;-)

but seriously though I hope your not really getting a lung infection again.

I get 3-4 lung infections asn/or bronchitis a year. Comes from having asthma - things are often irritated and open to any old opportunistic bug that comes along.

I just drop in at my doc and tell her "It's wendy's semi-annual lung infection" and I get a course of prednisone and an antibiotic from column B.
