It may not be traditional, but I have a lasagna in the oven.

I'll write more about how incredibly stressful and drama-laden yesterday was - probably under a f-lock so I can rant. The gist is that the Teslacon drama will not die, and some people are getting a rather rude awakening. Of course, I'm going to end up blamed for it but that's nothing new.

In the end I had a nice quiet evening gathering with turkey and ham and though the bus schedule necessitated my leaving before the fried apples I had a good time.

Has stress-induced trouble sleeping so I slept quite late today. Made crescent rolls with strawberry jam for breakfast, and will have tasty lasagna for dinner. I'm spending the whole day in my jammies - reading, watching tv and a bit of old school dr who. A nice hot bath is also in the cards I think.

The pre-job projects continue. I did a closet purge, rearranged the costume closet, properly stacked all those bolts of fabric (and set aside the ones that will get buried in basement storage) and finally packed away the summer clothes. And yeah, I should probably take that AC unit out of the bedroom window. Really hoping to get to the living room one day, and the studio another, and maybe even get that new winter coat cut out before I start work next Wednesday.

Lasagna for Thanksgiving sounds awesome. I'm waiting until Dave has full chewing capacity (early Dec.) to make lasagna.

Preheat oven. Unwrap lasagna. Put lasagna in oven. Set timer. Take nap until the timer goes off. Eat lasagna.

And hope you don't sleep through timer, which is what I would do.

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with drama. I thought you'd had such a good experience there and it saddens me to hear that things have devolved.
As an FYI, I'm working on putting together a con in Raleigh, NC, for 2012. If there's anything about what's happening that I can learn from in the sense of "you should avoid this" I'd love to hear it. My goal is a drama-free, sustainable, fun, immersion experience con so I'm pinging people right and left for advice.
Hugs!
Kell

Oh the drama has little to do with the actual con.

There are some local "figures" in the steampunk scene who run nightclub events. They do that very well, and because they do that well they think they are so awesome that they can do anything, including write and produce a murder mystery despite having little writing and no improv experieince. The show succeeded in spite of them, largely through the efforts of a friend and myself, who actually HAVE interactive theatre experience.

At the show, one girl pitched a hissy fit in public(to the point of my having to talk the hosts of a party out of calling security on her) because her picture was left out of a pretend article in the pretend ship's newspaper about pretend people. Because clearly I meant to insult her. And the fact that I've kind of avoided her since that incident clearly proves that I hated her all along, and has nothing to do with the fact that I have no idea when anything I say to her is going to cause her to flip her shit out.

Her BF is the one who wrote the unproducable show that I was called in to help fix (and got comments at the closing wrap up that "the reporter was one of the best parts of the show!"). He's convinced that he's writing the show for next three years and was very condescending when I told them that we had a bid in against him. "There are no bids, and if you want to work with us you need to stop it", etc. In addition to writing a total Mary Sue story where everyone except him were buffoons, he also tried to delete elements of the story arc that the Chair had been using to promote the con for months, because they didn't agree with his philosophy of steampunk. Not exactly the way to win a repeat gig. He's going to get a rather rude awakening, because the Con Chair called me last week to tell us that he was accepting our bid and to talk general ideas.

Of course, both are friends with the hostess of the party I was invited to on Wednesday, so I originally said that I'd skip it out of courtesy to her. There was flouncing and texting and facebook-unfriending and all sorts of nonsense. Bleh- maybe I'm just old but I just don't have the energy for that kind of nonsense any more.

Oh my, that's no fun at all. Sounds like a case of over-inflated ego meeting reality to sad result. Sorry you got put through that.
Hugs!

Ahhh drama- how did I know that the actions of a few weeks ago just. wouldn't. die.

If you need anything Wendy, let us know- we're more than happy to help next year or notsomuch.

Or we can kill things with fire!

Oh we have PLANS for you...

We just can't get started until we have that first briefing session with Eric - he has a very specific story arc for this one and we need to get that sorted out before we can start working on our plot that will incorporate and weave around it. So we're trying very hard not to let our fancies get away with us until that is confirmed. Expect concrete info by March at the latest
