Introducing Portia

This is Portia. She's staying with me for a little while.
She's about a year and a half old, and was abandoned at a vet's office. She's really active, and has been going stir-crazy in the confines of the shelter environment. They do what they can - everybunny gets exercise time in a pen very day. But she needs room to run.
She's busily exploring the vacation condo, and I'm letting her settle in for a bit. She'll get to run loose in the kitchen when I'm home, and once I'm sure she's up to it she can run as many laps in my loooonnnggg hallway as her fuzzy little heart can stand.
Once she's settled, I'm mostly supposed to observe her - take the time to see what her personality is like, what kinds of toys she likes, etc - with an eye towards getting her adopted.
Red Door is full, and has twice that many buns in foster care right now - and calls are coming in every day from shelters that have buns to be placed. Adoptions have REALLY slowed down this summer too. So I'm really needed, especially now.

Smidgie was poking at The Phooka this afternoon. She wanted to play. He did not. There was grrphing. She's feeling full of Woe because she has her herbal calming collar back on. She kept going after Mew again, seriously. Now the collar has her just calm enough for her to think twice about a frontal attack. I woke up this morning hearing growls and (without my glasses) saw a black splotch in the bedroom doorway, figured it was Nox watching Smidge and Nox facing off in the other room. Fumbled the glasses on... the black splotch was MEW, blocking the doorway and refusing to let Smidge in! You go, girl!
Smidge has woe. Much woe.

Definitely have to burrito her next time (or at least start with the front paws) because she is VERY squiggly and does NOT like being on her back. She squipped loose at one point and scrabbled up my chest trying to escape. I got them all done eventually, and even checked her scent glands (which were nice and clean) but ow ow ow ow my check and neck got a good scoring. Her splotchy coloring on her feet extends to the nails - some are white and some are black!
