It isn't something I've been thinking, mostly because I haven't really thought about who he might be. But offhand, I can't think of any reason that he couldn't be. On the other hand, I also can't think of any particular mysteries it would explain, unless you count his parentage as a mystery instead of merely not germane to any of the plots so far.

I reread the 4 books before getting number 5 and reading it. I hadn't thought of it, but there are certainly indications in 4 and 5 that this might be the case.
