YEAAAAA!

I DON'T HAVE TO GO TO THE BASEBALL GAME!!

Rob just called and said he had been thinking and he could tell how much I didn't want to go to the game on Friday, so he is going to call his brother and tell him to sell the ticket. Turns out he had told brother than I probably wouldn't be interested in going, but brother bought ticket anyway.

He is working Sunday at Bristol, so he is going to do the family thing on Friday, spend Saturday with me, and do faire on Sunday.

It was really the combination of setting and wanting to impress the family that was doing me in. One major stress at a time, please.

So a little less life-suckage at the moment. I hope to get major cleaning and mending done today, so I can start the commission work for [livejournal.com profile] eacole72 and [livejournal.com profile] tarsa tomorrow.

Yay!

Ballgame avoidance is always a good thing.

Perhaps the next time you can suggest a better setting for meeting the 'rents.

Yeah - it's hard enough making small talk with people you want to impress, but to do it for 4 hours in a setting you neither know nor care anything about? That was scary.

You know...considering that you want to keep this one around...it might not be a bad idea to start considering settings that you would feel comfortable in. Your much more likely to be less stressed in a familiar or comfortable setting than in one you don't like. Your choice of setting will at least equalize the situation, if not give you a slight advantage.

I have - BBQ at his new place (show off house and girlfriend), dinner at a casual restaurant, street or community festival.

Good deal!

BTW - I'm doing public ritual Saturday and going to Faire on Sunday (payday).

hmm - I'd like to go to see people who will only be in town that weekend. Could I coerce you to pick me up? I'll make bread....
(As I recall, John is out of town)

John is out of town and has asked that one of us get his check, yes. I can pick you up, no problem. Your place, I assume? 9-ish?

[identity profile] wendyzski.livejournal.com 2004-07-26 01:25 pm (UTC)(link)
that'd be great. What do you want for breakfast?

[identity profile] jmthane.livejournal.com 2004-07-28 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Cinnamon raisin, please?

Brother deserves a "thawp" to the head! BUT I'm glad to hear you will get to "meet the 'rents" in a locale you will be more comfortable in. I met my "potential future in-laws" when accompaning my (at the time) SO to his father's funeral.

Not what I'd have liked, but...

...I appreciated it then, and still do now. Thank you, dear.

Wendy: Yay, you get a shot at a better "meet the folks" environment. I hope it goes well.

I've always been told that baseball games are great places to get a bit of stitching done...

Me, well.. last non-kid game I went to I was in middle school... and went book in hand (and read *most* of the Phillies game). The kid games nearly always see some sort of finger twiddle or other pulled out of my bag :-)

BTW, I saw a clock that would make you laugh at Kitty Hawk Kites last week... a "Hamster clock". Ok, so it's a mechanical hamster, but.... And no, I'm not kidding http://www.stupid.com/stat/HAMC.html see?
