I cleaned the coffee pot!
Why is it that every time I start a new job, one of the first things that I do is to clean out a rather frightening coffee pot? Probably because I like good coffee, and good coffee does not taste like 6-month-old rancid coffee beans. Yay for self-preservation!
Everyone is at lunch, so it's just me and Frankie here in the outer office. I managed to find a number-sorter (quickly converted to an alpha-sorter by turning it backwards and labeling the tabs with a sharpie) so I will have gotten 2 of the properties backed-up filing from 2006 filed and stored. It's amazing what you can do when you actually have proper tools!
I still have a very dark little cubicle, but I re-arranged my work area to take advantage of the occasional pool of light from the overhead spots. Even found a document stand buried in the same closet and found a light spot for that.
I'm slowly moving in. I brought a bunch of different-flavored teas and my capi-mug, hand lotion and lip balm, and my "Mental Clarity" aromatherapy mist - just the thing for that mid-afternoon slump.
Called my doc - I'm sliding sloooowwwwllyyy into another bronchial infection. I thought for a while that with the aid of the neb I might be able to fight it off on my own, but I've been getting just a little bit worse every day. Doc is calling in another antibiotic script and I have an appt to see her next Wed after work. Bleh.
