Saw info for a new faire in MI on the Wenches Board and dropped off an e-mail to find out where to send a demo. They sent a performer application.
As part of the application, they want a $200 security deposit! Umm - no...
They say they will return it after the 2nd weekend of the show, and that it is to basically insure that people show up. Ummm - still no.
I sent off a reply stating that in more than 20 years of doing this no one had EVER asked me for a deposit, and that we can provide ample evidence of our professionalism. I asked if this was intended to apply to all performers, and requested a reply.
Sounds like a really odd way of doing business.
