It's OK - I slept for almost 4 hours, and then tackled the litterbox. She still has no greens :( but she has fresh hay and can now go potty without balancing on a pile of pootie-balls.
Yeah - it was pretty bad - and even with that I didn't smell the box until I tipped it. Yay for Feline Pine!
But she's all clean and topped up and the Roomba is recharging after round 1 of the cleaning. My LUSH massage bar got a bit nibbled though. (It's OK - it's all natural and the only think she'll likely be is shinier)
TP's boxes got cleaned yesterday. I wanted to do them earlier in the week, but I was trying to catch them during one of his naps, and he wasn't cooperating. For once, his naps weren't lasting long. He was camping out next to my recliner, and everytime I moved, he woke up.
purdypied recommended a different shedding comb and it arrived today. He's not sure if he likes it or not, so of course, he's going with the "not" side for now, even if he did melt when I combed his forehead.
I was thinking about this after I left the house this morning. Is there a control group for when you get the plague? What I mean is, the general sequence is that you get the plague, you do things that various people suggest might not be the best plan, and (we think) you take longer to recover. However, at least as long as I've known you, I don't have an example of whether it actually takes less time to get better if you "behave". I mean, for all I know, it doesn't, and we're yelling at you undeservedly.
Of course, there's only one way to test this theory, and it will have to wait until next time.
The "control" group is mostly in my head. I have been getting these 2-5 times a year for decades now. Things I have learned include: 1) going to the doctor as soon as I get the "cough I can taste". 2) cranking the humidity and getting horizontal as quickly as possible 3) once the fever goes down slowly getting vertical to get the goo out 4) taking all my meds for as long as I have to 5) listening to my body
Sometimes I wonder what it might be like to have a real functioning immune system, but as I've not had one since at least 1988 it's sort of a moot point. (Did Janet every tell you WHY this happens to me? I had what they now call CFIDS)
I won't lie - if there hadn't been the CD stuff to do on top of the work stuff I'd have let it slide. But both was stressing me out so much that it seemed a reasonable tradeoff to push myself in order to know that it is DONE DONE DONE!!!
I will do my shifts at the Maritime Fest tomorrow, but am not sure that i will last until performing in the finale in the evening concert. See - I'm even considering giving up STAGE TIME to recover - aren't I being all smart and stuff?
Either you or Janet did talk to me about the CFIDS thing at some point, though not in great detail. I think it's reasonably likely it was you. Also, I think there's generally some debate among your commenters regarding point 5, which is why I asked this in the first place. It occasionally appears that you're listening to your body but not actually doing what it tells you. This is actually understandable, in the sense that people who rarely get sick tend to take being sick enough to notice fairly seriously, but if you actually did rest all the time that you were seriously ill, that's a fair amount of time to be writing off. A week every year or more is different from a week every few months. In other words, I figure that given that you've somehow managed to avoid killing yourself off so far, I/we probably worry about you too much. Expecting this to change my reactions to things is probably overly optimistic.
On the other hand, if you're considering giving up stage time, it's obviously worse than I thought it was. :-)
Thanks - I will be up for my hours and day-sets, but I may bail before the evening concert. See - I'm being good - I'm even considering giving up STAGE TIME!
