That's the problem with having group projects...

Course, the rest of the world is hardly in position to criticize. Last I recall, some of the Middle-East nations had a distressing habit of stoning both Gays and female victims of rape.

I know - but I'm seeing an awful lot of LJ comments from places like England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, India, Japan, Finland, and probably some more that I can't remember. It's been pretty cool to see how other countries viewed this election. I know of at least 5 "US Election Viewing Parties" in various places. It bodes well for our reputation abroad.

Right now, the world loves us. We've managed to elect someone who is more interested in adult, intelligent discussion than in playing Cowboy or Army (thus treating the US military as his personal supply of Green Army Men). They all breathed a sigh of relief that we got it right this time. How well we hold on to all that good feeling will depend on what we do with it.
